Day 2 of 'The New Adventures of Lorryday'

I had my first early start today , 8 am In Stroud. I set off from the yard at a little before 5 am and made really good time.

I was an hour early so I was sitting in the cab wishing the Talksport studio's were being stormed and Alan Brazil was being carried away, along with Roni "I'm reading the autocue" Irani, and the annoying sports presenter, when I heard an amazing sound, it was beautiful, and sounded even better in the amazing surroundings. The sun was beaming down and washing everything around me in warm rays, then I heard this ........

It was a Chevy Camaro and it sounded like a beast, but a controlled, restrained beast. It was perfection and the mechanic obviously had an ear for an engine because he was playing it like an instrument.

The other picture is a bit rubbish because my customer turned up and I spent the next 2 hours in the back of the wagon humping 40 cubic metres of flat pack furniture up and down it.

I am glad he didn't start this car up, it would of really killed the mood.

I was finished in Stroud just after 10am and made my back up to the midlands. I was tired but still happy after the blissful tones of the Chevy.
That's why I love this job because you are out in the world and you get to see and hear stuff. all sorts of things can make you smile and interest you. It could be a view, or a car, or a load you see on the road.

I spent the last hour of the way home driving up the M42 looking at ADR wagons and working out there action codes !! yeah, I was a little bored by then.

Loaded up and heading back to Glouster again tomorrow. but its good to be back.
