They wanted me to take an urgent pallet to Harlow. It was loaded on the forklift so all I had to do was open the door and in she goes.
It was an easy drive down but I had a small problem, forgetting to fuel the Sprinter up. I always forget I am not in the lorry with a 300 litre tank. A pitstop on the motorway is usually a no no and @ 1.059 pence per litre I wasn't surprised We're not usually allowed in the BP stations but my regular card expired on 28th Feb so I had no choice.
I rang work and told them I would have to use the BP but because we don't pay pump price it was the cheapest card to use this week so they were cool.
When I drive one of the vans it takes me a while to remember I got an extra 25 mph!! It suddenly clicks and then , Mirror , Signal , Manoeuvre!! and I'm off.
Its brilliant passing all the slow Lorry's for a change and it's pure bliss getting past those slow car drivers that sit in the middle lane and refuse to budge.
I was in such a rush this morning to get in for this special delivery I didn't get a chance to make and Sandwiches or grab any snacks, I thought I would get a chance to slip into a fast food place but the first drop I was clear by 11 am, and that's just to early to eat !! The next time I found my self near one I was on another deadline and couldn't spare the time.
I enjoyed the drive down for another reason today, out of the blue I turned on the radio ( I listen to Talksport usually and turn over to 5 Live when the ads come on) and The Prime Minister was on talking to Andy Townsend and Mike Parry. What a meeting of minds !! ha ha it was pretty compelling listening , and seeing as I was playing at being White Van Man for the day I might as well immerse my self in the roll..... Well the "White Van Men" were ringing in and talking to Gordon , blaming him for everything and Mike and Andy were asking him all sorts of tricky political Questions and Gordon just said what he wanted to say, He didn't very often answer them , he just promised to look into anything that was a little tricky and pointed others to websites, It was all pretty un- inspiring to be honest, How are we going to get people inspired with this attitude to the electorate ? Where is our Obama ?
After the drop I was heading back to base and I found the Shearer Wagon in our yard being loaded.
I also saw this foreign truck with Grass Steps ?? weird or what ? and this smashed wagon on the car park @ Alltruck.

I did a bit around Leicester and then headed up to Kirkby in Ashord for a 4 pm drop . It all went off without a hitch but I wasn't able to get a chance to eat so I was a bit hungry.
I don't like making a packed lunch in the mornings , I just don't feel like eating anything at that time of day and cant even stand the thought of eating.
Then 6 hours later I wish I had made something. I usually force myself to make something at night for the morning so If I think I'm not going in,I miss out the next day.
A day off tomorrow so maybe ill see you on Wednesday. ( I wont be making a packed lunch either)
